Man United loanee Antony slams Real Betis teammates just days after debut

Manchester United loanee Antony has questioned the mentality of his Real Betis teammates following Saturday's dramatic 3-2 defeat to Celta Vigo.

The 24-year-old joined the La Liga side on loan until the end of the season towards the end of the January transfer window. He grabbed an assist and was named man of the match on his debut against Athletic Bilbao before scoring his first goal since September at the weekend.

Antony opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the contest with a fine left-footed strike into the bottom corner. Diego Llorente made it 2-0 in the first-half but Betis failed to hold onto the win and succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.

Fran Beltran and Javi Rodriguez levelled the scoring before Williot Swedberg netted the winner in the 87th minute. Antony, who was booked earlier in the game and substituted in the 72nd minute, failed to hold his frustrations at the defeat. "It's very difficult to understand that we lost this match," he told DAZN. "We started very well, we went 2-0 up but we have to change our mentality," and added: "We scored two goals, but we have to be focused throughout the match, the 90 minutes.
