Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson looks set to receive a special honour from Manchester United after clinching gold in Paris.
Leading from the outset, Hodgkinson overcame her Tokyo 2020 silver disappointment in stunning style on Monday. Despite late challenges from Kenya's Mary Moraa (bronze) and Ethiopia's Tsige Duguma (silver) after the final turn, the Brit held firm to clinch the victory.
The Atherton-born United fan made history as the first British competitor to win athletics gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she dominated the women's 800 metres on Monday.
And Hodgkinson - who has previously expressed her love for United and shares a close bond with team stalwart Ella Toone - has already disclosed the prize she can't wait to experience upon her return to Old Trafford.
