MediaCity's free waterside cinema is showing Barbie, Mean Girls, Top Gun and more this school holidays

There's a free waterside cinema down at Salford Quays for the summer holidays showing a host of family favourites. Screen on the Docks at MediaCity's Waterside Steps has been showing some movies alongside the Olympics and has a full schedule lined up for the rest of the school holidays.

Films, starting at either 1pm or 6.30pm, include the likes of Trolls Band Together, Barbie, Mean Girls, Top Gun: Maverick, Mamma Mia!

and more. All screenings are free to attend and seating is on a first come, first served basis. READ MORE: 50 things to do with the kids in and around Manchester this school holidays The free films are just a small part of the entertainment on offer there this summer, with a line-up of events and activities, including free boules games (with a £20 refundable deposit), free family disco parties at Kargo MKT - Arabian Princess on August 18 and Snow Queen and Spider-Man on August 23 - and the Louby Lou Clown Show on August 24.

Tickets costing £2.88 can be booked online here. Some new kitchens have been added to the 'mouth-watering line-up' at Kargo MKT including the chicken focused Bok Bok and a new Japanese vendor Dora Sushi.
