Steven Bebbington, 39, had earlier been kicked out of a pub for making inappropriate comments to a pregnant barmaid. He was then followed along the streets of Eccles, Salford, by a group who confronted him, and became involved in a scuffle, Manchester Crown Court heard.
During the melee he was kicked and punched by another man, but when the woman intervened to break it up, she was struck to the face by Bebbington.
