Man taken to hospital after being stabbed in street in Hyde

A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the street in Hyde. Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Union Street in the early hours of Friday 22 May.

Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 6.30am and took a 25-year-old man to hospital with a stab wound. He has since been discharged.

Two women, aged 15, and 25, were arrested on suspicion of assault and have since been released under investigation. Photos posted on social media showed a forensic officer examining the road on Friday morning.

A police cordon was put in place on Union Street for most of the morning as officers were seen patrolling the area. A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 6.20am on Friday 22 May 2020, police were called to reports of a stabbing
