A man was taken to hospital after being hit by a car and 'suffering a medical episode' in Bury. Bell Lane was closed off after the crash at around 5.10pm yesterday (Thursday).

Police said they were called to reports of 'two men in the road'. One of the men was hit by a car, a spokesperson for GMP said, and suffered a medical episode. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing. Bell Lane was shut both ways yesterday from Parsonage Street to Deal Street as police and ambulance were at the scene.
