A man drank a litre of vodka and took cocaine before driving to the home of his daughter's grandmother and stabbing her at least 20 times.
Michael Moon drove to the 67-year-old victim's house in Widnes armed with a large kitchen knife, a court heard. He briefly spoke to her through the window of the vehicle, before getting out and repeatedly knifing her in the head and upper body, Cheshire Live reports.
Moon, 39, continued to attack his helpless victim even after she fell to the floor. He then walked back to this vehicle and shouted that he would 'run the victim over' before he turned and threw the knife at her which became lodged into her shoulder. Despite the severity of her injuries, the victim managed to move out of the path of his vehicle. Moon then fled the scene driving at speeds of 134mph.
