Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Man 'slashed' at Glasgow soup kitchen 'while queueing for food'

A man is in hospital after an alleged 'slashing' at a soup kitchen for the homeless in Glasgow. The 37-year-old is alleged to have been attacked while queueing for food at the Homeless Project Scotland facility on Argyle Street on Sunday night.A source claimed the victim was attacked with a knife.They said: "A man was slashed with a knife at the soup kitchen service."He was attacked while waiting in the queue for food.

Paramedics had to work to contain the bleeding."Emergency services descended onto the scene after being alerted to the incident at 8.30pm.The man was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

His condition is currently unknown.Images from the incident show a cordon erected on the street. Officers from Police Scotland confirmed a 44-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the serious assault.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today. A spokesperson said: “A 44 -year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious assault of a 37-year-old man which happened at Argyle Street in Glasgow around 8.30pm Sunday, November 13.
