A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the M56. Police officers, firefighters and paramedics were scrambled to the scene of the two-car smash on the westbound carriageway at around 7.50pm last night (Sunday).
The incident happened near Wythenshawe between junctions three and four. Fire crews had to cut a man free from one of the cars involved in the crash.
He was then taken to hospital. A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed today that he was left seriously injured.
