A police investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in a Salford churchyard this evening. Crime scene investigators and detectives descended on the scene in the grounds of St Mary's Church in Eccles town centre.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 7.25pm tonight (June 14) where a man was reportedly attacked and found on a footpath cutting across the churchyard.
The entirety of the church and the churchyard was cordoned off as officers carried out enquiries. Clothes and medical equipment, along with a bike, were seen in the aftermath of the incident..
Crime scene investigators, detectives from the criminal investigation department, and a host of officers surrounded the cordon, where they continue to hunt for information.
