Man rushed to hospital after 'assault' in Tameside street

A man has been taken to hospital this afternoon (November 30) following reports of an assault in Hyde. Oldham Street was closed off after police were called to a 'disturbance'.

A cordon is currently in place as officers continue to carry out enquiries. Eyewitnesses reported seeing 'a lot of blood' on tissues and a pillow on the pavement from within the cordon.

Others say they saw a man with a head injury sat on a chair being attended to by paramedics. The nature of the incident is not yet known, but Greater Manchester Police
