A man needed 20 stitches after being slashed across the face in a Salford churchyard. The shocking attack took place in the grounds of St Mary's Church in Eccles town centre.
In a post on Facebook Sgt Paul Mottram said a 46-year-old man was arrested by officers from the Eccles neighbourhood team on Saturday morning in connection with the attack.

The victim was 31-years-old. Sgt Mottram wrote: "On 6th June at 5.45pm , a 31yr old male was attacked in St. Mary's Church grounds in Eccles.
