A man who ‘masqueraded as a Deliveroo driver’ was caught by police dealing drugs. Mohammed Ali, 27, was spotted by police who were on surveillance for something else in Manchester city centre.

They saw him exchanging packages with members of the public, while sat on a Deliveroo motorbike and ‘masquerading’ as a delivery driver, Manchester Magistrates’ Court heard.

He was seen speaking to numerous people and passing packages between them. Officers arrested Ali and found him with amounts of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis, and analysis of his phone showed evidence of drug dealing.

Ali, of Manchester, admitted possession with intent to supply cannabis, cocaine and MDMA, and also admitted driving a Yamaha bike without a licence, driving with no insurance and fraudulently using a registration plate.
