A man was left with a fractured eye socket after he and his partner were violently attacked by a gang of teens in Erskine.The man and woman were found injured in the street by passers-by following the unprovoked assault in the early hours of the morning.A 24-year-old man was left with serious facial injuries after he and the woman were pounced on by a gang of teens on Sunday morning.The pair had been walking home in the Linburn Road area of the town around 2am when they were confronted by the group - who were all aged between 16 and 17.An unprovoked and violent attack then took place, resulting in the man sustaining a serious wound to his face.The woman, aged 27, had minor injuries which did not require medical treatment.The pair were discovered by members of the public, who alerted the police.The man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment to his injuries and was later released.Detectives are now appealing for information, with officers treating the attack as a serious assault.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.

Sign up to our newsletters here.They are keen to trace the suspects, who are described as being aged 16 to 17 and all were wearing dark clothing.They are believed to have made off in the direction of Lamont Farm.Detective Constable Kate Wason, from Paisley CID, said “Extensive enquiries are ongoing into this unprovoked assault and we are very keen to trace the individuals responsible.“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the attack who may have seen what happened to get in touch, including any drivers who might have dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation.”Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting
