Man left in pool of blood after 'extremely disturbing' Blackpool Prom attack

A hotelier was left in a pool of blood after an 'extremely disturbing' attack on Blackpool Promenande that was filmed and shared widely on social media.

Dennis Grainger, 45, was alone on the Promenade on Wednesday morning (August 31) when he was beaten before a bag on his back was stolen, LancsLive reports.

Police said the 'defenceless' victim suffered broken bones as well as serious cuts and bruises before being taken to hospital.

One senior officer, who reviewed the footage, said he was lucky to survive the assault, which she described as one of the most horrific in her 29 years of policing.
