Man gunned down outside pub 11 years ago may be behind Salford's latest shooting

Detectives are still trying to establish a motive for the attackon Tuesday evening on Cholmondeley Road, when a shot was fired at a house in the street.

But the Manchester Evening News understands that one possible line of inquiry is an incident which happened in 2010. A 43-year-old man was blasted by a masked gunman outside the Dog and Partridge in Bolton Road, Irlams o' th' Height, Salford, one evening in April that year.

It was understood he had earlier left the pub, gone to a nearby one and been involved in a fight and was shot in the road while
