A man has died after a horror crash with an HGV lorry in Aberdeenshire. Emergency crews including an air ambulance were scrambled to the A90 at West Auchries, Cruden Bay, Peterhead at 1pm on Friday, January 17.Police received reports of a collision involving an HGV lorry and a grey Toyota RAV 4.The 53-year-old male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed. The driver of the lorry, a 47-year-old man, was not injured.The Scottish Ambulance Service sent several units to the scene including three special operations response teams (SORT), one trauma team, and one air ambulance.Footage from the scene showed the chopper land on a nearby field.The road was closed for 13 hours while police probed the crash.
