A man has denied causing a woman's death by dangerous driving. Kate Swale died aged 21 after a crash involving a grey Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Mercedes C180 on the M62 on May 27 last year.

Jamie Hughes, of Belton Road in Huyton, has since been charged with causing her death by dangerous driving. The 23-year-old appeared before Liverpool Crown Court this afternoon, Wednesday, to face this charge and a count of causing death by careless driving while unfit through drugs.

Wearing a grey polo shirt and sporting short brown hair in the dock, he spoke to confirm his name and date of birth before pleading not guilty to the two offences, the ECHO reports.
