Man dead in horror Falkirk 'gas explosion' as police called to residential street

A man has been killed in a suspected gas explosion at a building in Denny, near Falkirk. Emergency services were called to the scene on Northfield Road at around 4.10pm on Sunday, October 16.

Police have confirmed that a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. His death is currently being treated as unexplained, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Officers have stressed that there is no danger to the wider public.A statement from the force said: “We were called around 4.10pm on Sunday, 16 October, to a report of a gas explosion in an outbuilding in the Northfield Road area of Denny.“Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no danger to the wider public.“The death is being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.This is a breaking news story - more to follow.
