Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez has pleaded with Elon Musk to give him his verified blue tick back on Twitter. Mahrez will be busy this week helping City book their place in the Champions League final as they face Real Madrid in the second leg of their semi-final at the Bernabeu.
Ahead of the game, though, it seems his standing on social media has distracted him somewhat. The Algeria international boasts more than three million followers on Twitter but, unlike most of his City teammates, doesn’t have a blue tick next to his name.
The 31-year-old did previously have the verification stamp, but has since lost it. ALSO READ: Man City transformation followed Pep Guardiola challenge over £38m Real Madrid deal Mahrez therefore called upon Musk — the world’s richest person — to restore his blue tick.
Tesla owner Musk recently had his $44billion takeover offer of the social media company agreed, with shareholders set to vote on the proposed deal.
