Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has already spoken out against the European Super League and Champions League reform amid the re-emergence of the breakaway competition.
Back in April 2021 when plans for a Super League were first announced, Gundogan took the opportunity to lambast the proposal, while he also criticised the amended format of Europe's premier club competition.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville said on Thursday that plans to form a new Super League could be 'back on the table', news that's unlikely to go down well with Gundogan given his previous comments. He tweeted in April 2021: "With all the Super League stuff going on... can we please also speak about the new Champions League format? "More and more and more games, is no one thinking about us players?
