Manchester City's links to a mega-money Lionel Messi transfer has already sounded alarm bells in rival Premier League boardrooms and at Uefa.
And it's believed there has already been informal dialogue between some of City's opponents who are watching the Messi saga closely as his proposed exit from Barcelona gathers pace.
It's just 48 days since City were cleared by the Swiss Court of Arbitration over charges they breached Financial Fair Play regulations.
And although City have so far refused to show their hand over bringing Messi to English football, some of their rivals are in no doubt Pep Guardiola is urging his paymasters to make a deal happen for the Barcelona star.
