Manchester City have apparently spoken to the representatives of Atalanta star Giorgio Scalvini with Pep Guardiola said to be an admirer of the centre-back.
The 19-year-old is a regular for his side and has already clocked up 65 appearances during his young career. Calciomercato claims City face competition from Juventus for the teenager, who has seven caps for Italy, one of which came against England in Tuesday’s Euro 2024 qualifying defeat.
The defender has spoken to both City and also Bayern Munich, according to TuttoMercatoWeb. It says Scalvini was one alternative Guardiola was looking at if Josko Gvardiol escaped their grasp in the summer. Atalanta are holding out for €50million (£44m) for their player after rebuffing an approach from Paris Saint-Germain, the report adds.
