City confirmed that Couto has joined Portuguese side Braga for the season after impressing at Girona last term. Couto, 19, signed from Coritiba in 2020 and was immediately sent out on loan to City Football Group sister club Girona where he scored twice and assisted five goals in 30 appearances.

The Brazilian has gone on record to explain how he declined Barcelona and Bayern Munich to sign for City, and has not been shy in expressing his ambition of impressing Pep Guardiola and breaking into the first team at the Etihad.
