Manchester City's chief operating officer says bringing Lionel Messi to the Etihad next summer is "being considered". Messi told the Catalan giants he wanted out of the Nou Camp at the end of last season - with City understood to have been his favoured destination.
But the Blaugrana dug their heels in and insisted the Argentine's release clause must be paid for him to depart the club. Messi eventually agreed to see out the remaining year of his contract, but went public with his dismay over essentially being kept at the club against his wishes.
And Omar Berrada has hinted the Blues could launch a move for Messi when he becomes a free agent at the end of the current campaign.
