Manchester City have snapped up Simon Timson from the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to be their new performance director. Timson, 49, has been at the LTA for two years having made his name as team manager for in British skeleton, helping Amy Williams to an Olympic gold medal in Vancouver in 2010..
He then moved on to work for the England and Wales Cricket Board before becoming performance director for UK Sport, a role which guided GB to a record medal tally in the Rio Olympics.
