Zachary Benn, 19, of Ringstead Drive, Manchester, was due to stand trial today, but walked free from Nightingale court at the Hilton, after the court heard no evidence was to be offered.
He was charged with rape, sexual assault, blackmail, robbery, and possession of a bladed article but found not guilty on all counts.
Police were called at around 8.25pm on Sunday 9 August 2020 to reports a woman in her late teens was raped in a field off New Allen Street, Manchester.
