Man charged with attempted murder following alleged attack in Paisley street

A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following an alleged attack in Paisley yesterday afternoon.Emergency services rushed to Broomlands Street in the town after they received reports of a disturbance at around 2.30pm yesterday.Medics attended to a 54-year-old man who was seriously injured and he was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

His condition is currently unknown.Officers taped off the area between Kingston Street and Castle Street while enquiries were carried out.

A number of police officers remained in the the area along with numerous police vehicles for several hours.
