A man has been charged in connection with a three vehicle crash which has left two seriously injured. The incident occurred on the A71 near the Moorfield Roundabout in Kilmarnock at around 7.45am on Thursday, February 3.
The collision involved a white Vauxhall Movano pick up, a white Vauxhall Corsa and a Skoda Octavia. Two women, the 34-year-old driver and 25-year-old passenger of the Corsa, were rushed to Crosshouse Hospital with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the Skoda's 55-year-old male driver and the Movano 25-year-old male passenger were also taken to the same hospital.However, they were later released while the driver of the Movano was uninjured.A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.
He has been released on undertaking to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date. The road was closed for around three hours following the crash, according to Police Scotland, who are appealing for information.
