Police were called to reports of a serious assault involving a knife at the rear car park of Newall Green Hotel on Greenbrow Road just before 9.30m on June 4.

A 25-year-old man suffered several wounds to the back of his head and neck and was taken to hospital for treatment. Louis Edwards, 28, of Blackcarr Road, has been charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm and has been remanded into custody.He's due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on July 14 2021.
