A hiker who was challenged to spend a night alone in a "haunted" Scottish bothy says he heard "unexplained sounds" such as scratching and footsteps.
Chris Knight, content creator and ambassador of hiking community The Hike Society, was tasked to go alone into the Scots wilderness and take on what is regarded as among the most haunted bothies in the UK.
Known for being the site of horror stories and several reports of unexplained phenomena, Ben Alder Cottage is an eight-and-a-half-mile hike from the nearest road, with two river crossings required to get there.
While bothies traditionally act as safe havens for hikers and adventurers, the cottage's remote location and sinister reputation means that few dare to spend a night there.
