Man brought down from Salford Civic Centre scaffolding after FOUR HOUR stand off with police

A man was brought down safely from the Salford Civic Centre after a four hour stand-off with the police. He was earlier spotted by staff at the building, which is being used as a polling station, climbing up the scaffolding onto the roof of the building this morning (May 4).

The man moved to the front of the building and remained atop of the Civic centre for around four hours. He came down at around 2.40pm this afternoon. One staff member at the polling station nearby said: “We saw him climb up the scaffolding but he went onto the other side of the building.

It was around 11am this morning. “Then loads of police and a fire engine turned up. It was about four hours and then he came down.” In an update, Greater Manchester Police said the man has come down off the scaffolding.
