One man arrested in Manchester yesterday remains in custody as the police investigation into the Texas synagogue siege continues.
The second male, also arrested yesterday, January 26, has now been released, GMP have confirmed this afternoon. Both had been arrested on Wednesday morning by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West in connection with the attack at in Colleyville on Saturday, January 15. A sixth man, from Birmingham, was also arrested as part of the investigation. Malik Faisal Akram, 44, from Blackburn, held four hostages at the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue.
All of the hostages were released without being injured, but Mr Akram was shot and killed by the FBI a short time later.
