Man arrested in connection with rape of teenager in Midlothian

Police have made an arrest in connection with the alleged rape of a teenager in Midlothian. Officers launched a probe following the report of a serious sexual assault of an 18-year-old girl near Waverley Park Pavilion in Bonnyrigg.

The Record told how the alleged incident happened at around 1.30am on Saturday, February 11.Cops, including members of the forensics team, were believed to have been in the area since yesterday morning.Police have now confirmed an 18-year-old man has been arrested.

Their enquiries remain ongoing.
