Man arrested after 59-year-old dies after being found injured near Scots school

Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 59-year-old man, who passed away after being found injured near an Edinburgh school.

Emergency services raced to Primrose Street, Leith, at roughly 2.30pm on Tuesday, after receiving reports of an injured male.

Despite paramedics' best efforts, he could not be saved and died at the scene.Authorities confirmed that a 54-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the alleged incident and an investigation is ongoing to to determine the full circumstances.

Pictures taken at the scene yesterday, which was just 150 yards away from Leith Academy, show a major emergency presence.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.30pm on Tuesday, June 6, we were called to a report of a man injured in the Primrose Street area of Edinburgh.
