Man appears in court charged with murder of Alan Lawson

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Alan Lawson.The 36-year-old, from Saltcoats, died following an assault at a property on Alexander Avenue in Largs over the weekend of February 3 and 4.

Jordan Honeyman, 29, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court earlier today charged with murder and defeating the ends of justice.Lawson passed away in hospital on Tuesday, February 6, and a murder probe was launched.

Honeyman was detained by Police Scotland officers after a two-week manhunt. He was held in police custody overnight before appearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court this afternoon.

He made no plea to a charge of murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice. He was remanded in custody.
