A man has appeared before a judge accused of the “abduction and murder” of schoolgirl Nikki Allan nearly 30 years ago. David Boyd is alleged to have carried out “extreme violence” in the murder of the seven-year-old in 1992.
Nikki’s corpse was discovered in an abandoned building in Sunderland in October 1992. The seven-year-old had disappeared after leaving her grandparents’ home before neighbours started search parties in a frantic bid to find her.
However, her body was later found in the derelict Old Exchange building a few hundred yards away in the Wear Garth area, according to Chronicle Live.
Boyd, 54, from Stockton, was in the dock at Newcastle Crown Court wearing a white t-shirt and appeared to have tattoos on his arms.
