A man and woman are being treated for "life-threatening injuries" after two 'stabbings' in east Yorkshire. At about 2am on Saturday, a 35-year-old man with stab wounds to his stomach and head injuries was discovered in Buckingham Street, just off Holderness Road, in east Hull.

At 3am, a 33-year old-woman was then found in Rosmead Street, suffering from a stab wound to her neck stab. Humberside Police have said the incidents appear to be related, with no wider threat to the public, reports Hull Live.

A police spokesperson released a statement this Saturday stating: "Officers are in attendance and cordons are in place following reports of two stabbings in Hull during the early hours of this morning (Saturday 25 January). "Shortly after 2am, officers were called to attend the junction between Buckingham Street and Brecon Street after a man had been reportedly stabbed." "The man was taken to hospital for treatment to life threatening injuries having sustained a stab wound to his stomach and a serious injury to his head. "Shortly after 3am, officers received a further call to Rosmead Street to reports that a woman had also sustained stab wounds to her neck.

The woman was also taken to hospital for treatment to life threatening injuries." Detective Inspector Mark Skelton from the Major Crime Team said: "We believe these incidents to be connected and I would like to offer my reassurance that the individuals are believed to be known to each other.
