Man accused of murdering 'amazing bloke' could face trial next summer

A murder accused could face a trial next summer following the death of a man in Salford. Tom Gomm, 44, died following reports of an assault in Boothstown.

Emergency services were called to Irvine Avenue near Worsley at around 8.15pm on Sunday, December 15. Jack Naylor, 22, has been charged with murder, assault by beating, two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and a racially aggravated public order offence.

His case was heard at Manchester Crown Court, for a preliminary hearing. READ MORE: 'He showed no remorse and denied everything...

then he was faced with indisputable evidence' Mr Naylor, of Browning Avenue, Atherton, did not attend the brief hearing. He has not yet been asked to enter a plea.
