Man accused of embezzling over £80k from grandfather fails to appear at court

A warrant was issued today for the arrest of a man accused of embezzling more than £80,000 from his grandfather.Shaun Garwood, 31, is accused of embezzling a total of £80,0037 from the elderly man, 77 later this month, over a six period.

It is alleged that Garwood, of Crossford, Dunfermline, used a bank card belonging to his grandfather, Bernard Devlin, on various occasions between February 2015 and February last year (2021) to purchase goods online, withdraw money from cash machines, and transfer funds to his own bank account, all without Mr Devliin's permission.

The transactions are alleged to have been carried out at an address in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, and elsewhere.
