A man was today arrested by police after the seizure of cannabis plants said to be worth more than £10,000 in a dawn raid. Officers in Bolton swooped to target a property on Century Lodge, in Farnworth, early on Wednesday, December 4.

It followed a tip-off about a suspected cannabis farm being in operation. Police forced entry into the building, where they found between 20 and 25 cannabis plants in the loft.

Greater Manchester Police said the electricity supply had also been bypassed at the property 'as part of a sophisticated setup'.

On Saturday (December 14), police issued a new statement and confirmed a 58 year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and was in custody for questioning.
