A man has died after a late night collision with a car in Oldham, police have said. A 20-year-old man was arrested a 'short time later', police added, although it's not been confirmed what he was arrested on suspicion of as yet.
They confirmed the man who sadly died, who was 37 years-old, was believed to have been a pedestrian at the time who was hit by a car.
The man hasn't been named and the car hasn't been further described by police. The tragedy is the second on Greater Manchester's roads this weekend - a 16-year-old boy was killed and two others injured after a car hit a lamp post in Audenshaw, Tameside, earlier on Saturday night.
The collision happened on Oldham Road in Royton, Oldham. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.30pm on Saturday night.
