Man, 28, jailed for sexually assaulting girl, 16, in hotel room
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA man who sexually assaulted one of two teenage girls he groomed and bought gifts for has been jailed. Police said the 16 year-old victim woke up in a hotel room to find Hasseb Afzal, 28, sexually assaulting her.
Afzal picked up the two 16 year-olds in his car and bought them gifts including jewellery and watches from May until July last year, Greater Manchester Police said.
He would also give them alcohol, nitrous oxide and Class A drugs, the force added. On June 8, 2024, Afzal took the victim to a pre-booked room at a hotel after giving her money to buy alcohol, where she woke up to him sexually assaulting her.
An investigation began in June after a parent of the victim reported the abuse to the police. On Wednesday Afzal, from Bolton, was jailed at Bolton Crown Court for eight years.
