Malibu Franklin Fire Prompts Evacuations, Many Celebrity Homes Under Threat
justjared.comThe Franklin Fire in Malibu, Calif. has caused thousands of people to evacuate their homes, including several celebrities.
The fire began around 11pm on Monday night (December 9) and quickly grew in size due to winds. The Associated Press reports that more than 2,000 residents were ordered to evacuate their homes and another 6,000 people were warned to evacuate at a moment’s notice.
At this time, only a “minimal number” of homes have burned, though the fire is expected to last into Wednesday. Keep reading to find out more about the celebs affected… Oscar winner Mira Sorvino wrote on Twitter that she had evacuated. “All my Malibu friends and neighbors I pray that you are safe.
We evacuated in the middle of the night, kids and pets all accounted for! Scary times!!” she tweeted. Newsweek reports that some celebs who have homes in the area include Beyonce and Jay-Z, Jonah Hill, Julia Roberts, and Lady Gaga.
