Former Washington Football Team and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins has tragically passed away at the age of just 24 after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday morning (April 9).Haskins had been training in South Florida with his fellow Steelers quarterbacks before being hit by a car in the region, and sadly couldn't be saved.Haskins was picked up by the Steelers in 2021 and was planning to compete for a first-team spot this year having been released by Washington, now known as the Washington Commanders, back in 2020.A big prospect from a young age, Haskins finished third in Heisman Trophy voting back in 2018. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Saturday afternoon: "I am devastated and at a loss for words with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins.
