Majority of Scots would support second national lockdown if coronavirus figures climb, new poll finds

coronavirus cases continue to rise, according to a new poll. A study carried out by YouGov spoke to 2,690 people across the UK about a possible return to restrictions seen over March, April and May.

Around 63 per cent of Scots involved in the poll said they would support a similar tightening of the lockdown - 29 per cent said they are strongly in favour and 34 per cent said they somewhat supported the idea.A total of 13 per cent of respondents said they would somewhat oppose a further lockdown, while 16 per cent were strongly against it.Seven per cent of people polled said they don’t know.The findings come as Scotland continues to see a spike in new coronavirus cases, with some experts fearing a second wave of the outbreak.
