Last week, supermarkets Aldi and Lidl found themselves in a price war over the price of vegetables as the nation prepares to make Christmas dinner.

The two budget retailers were both offering vegetables for 19p - much to the delight of shoppers. But now another major supermarket has undercut them both, and is selling vegetables for 1p.
