Major disruption as trains cancelled through Greater Manchester station

Trains running through Rochdale station are severely disrupted this morning after a power failure. Engineers were called to the lines between Rochdale and Todmorden earlier following a 'failure of the electricity supply'.

Signalling has since been restored, but train services continue to be cancelled or 'severely delayed'. According to National Rail, the major disruption is expected until at least 10am.

Northern services are currently affected by the issue. Passengers are being advised to check their trains before they travel. National Rail said: "The signalling has now been restored following a failure of the electricity supply between Rochdale and Todmorden.
