M8 at Shotts to be closed to allow for essential works to be carried out

A section of the M8 eastbound between Junction 5 and Junction 6 at Shotts is set to benefit from a £310,000 investment from Transport Scotland.Its operating company BEAR Scotland plans to resurface approximately one mile of the trunk road.For the safety of workers and road users during these works, Junction 6a to Junction 5 on the M8 eastbound will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am for four nights, from Thursday, October 27, to Tuesday, November 1.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
