Lyle Waggoner has died at the age of 84. The actor was known for his roles in a number of hit TV shows in the 1960s and 1970s, including The Carol Burnett Show and Wonder Woman.
He died peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning after battling an illness, reports TMZ. He was surrounded by his wife and sons.
Lyle's career took off in the mid-60s after he landed a guest role on Gunsmoke. The star was also in the running for the title role in the iconic Batman TV series.
He lost out on the part to Adam West. Losing out on the role didn't put him off though, and Lyle went on to land a part on The Carol Burnett Show, a stint that went on to last seven years.
